About Slovenia vignette for bridges
Slovenia vignette is mandatory for all motorways and expressways in the Republic of Slovenia. The country’s toll system does not distinguish a separate vignette or special toll for bridged; however, they are included in Slovenian motorways and, therefore, also require an e-vignette.
Slovenian vignettes are necessary for motor vehicles with a weight of up to 3.5 t. There are three toll classes: the first toll class for single-track motor vehicles, the 2A toll class for most passenger cars, minivans, terrain vehicles, SUVs and pick-ups, and the 2B toll class for the majority of the multi-purpose vehicles and light trucks.
It is possible to choose between several types of the Slovenia vignette according to the validity period: annual, semi-annual, monthly e-vignette, and weekly e-vignette.
An electronic vignette for Slovenia completely replaced the usage of stickers, so drivers do not have to glue the vignettes to the vehicle’s windscreen.
Digital vignettes for bridges in Slovenia can be obtained at DARS sale points, authorized dealers, or online. Electronic purchase is the easiest way and requires several steps only.
Drivers must complete the form, selecting the vehicle category, the country of registration, the type of e-vignette, and the validity start date. It is also needed to enter some information like the vehicle’s license plate number and cover the fees. The Slovenian e-vignette will be delivered via email.
The e-vignette use is checked via cameras on the motorway network, at control points, and at border crossing. The violation of the e-vignette obligation will result in fines. For driving Slovenian motorways, expressways, and bridges without a valid vignette, a driver must pay a 300 EUR fine. In case of transferring the vehicle’s registration number onto another vehicle, a fine of 500 EURO will be charged.
