What is the penalty for driving without an electronic vignette
The e-vignette was introduced in 2017, and border police/customs officials have the right to check if you paid the road toll at any time. They can also impose a fine in case you don’t have a vignette.
Drivers of vehicles not registered in Moldova who use toll roads in the country without a vignette for less than 7 days can be fined MDL 5,000 (€ 231). For more than 7 days, the fine could cost even MDL 6,500 (€ 300).
