About Czech vignette for bridges
Vignettes are required to use the toll road network in the Czech Republic. Certain European countries also require having a vignette or paying an additional toll to use some bridges. However, there is no separate Czech vignette for bridges that you should purchase before starting your drive through the Czech Republic.
Still, as over 2,400 kilometers of highways and first-category roads in the Czech Republic require a driver to cover the toll fees, it may be quite hard to avoid using the toll roads and buying a vignette. All drivers who use the Czech roads that are subject to tolls without a valid vignette may be fined. The financial penalty for driving without a vignette in Czechia is CZK 20,000.
Remember to purchase a vignette if you plan a trip to the Czech Republic. You can do it even before your journey starts, as the country introduced the e-vignette system. You no longer need to stop at the nearest petrol station at border crossings or another vignette sale point to obtain a vignette. Instead, take your electronic device, put the required details of your vehicle and cover the fee. The active Czech digital vignette will be sent to you via email. Printing it out and carrying its physical copy for your trip is unnecessary. Save its electronic copy on your mobile device and travel in the Czech Republic without limitations.
The vignette obligation in the Czech Republic applies to all at least 4-wheel vehicles with a GVW of up to 3.5 tonnes. You can choose from three available vignette types, including a 10-day, 30-day, and annual vignette.
For vehicles exceeding 3.5t, a driver is obliged to install a GPS device measuring the distance. The fee is next covered according to the mileage.
