When to buy a vignette before entering the Czech toll roads
Some highways in the Czech Republic are subject to tolls immediately after entering them. These include the motorways D5 and D8 (when entering from Germany) and D2 (when driving from Slovakia).
In practice, it is permissible to drive to the nearest Rest and Service Area and obtain a Czech highway vignette there.
To ensure smooth entry and journey through the Czech Republic, all drivers of vehicles up to 3.5t are recommended to buy a Czech vignette online before crossing the country’s border. This will eliminate the stress and the need to look for the nearest vignette sales point or self-service kiosk where the vignette can be obtained.
