About Types of Czech Vignettes

The Czech Republic vignettes come in three types and differ in terms of the validity period. A driver of a vehicle whose GVW is not exceeding 3.5t may purchase a vignette for 10 days, 30 days, or 1 year.

For the vehicles of the GVW over 3.5t, the Czech Republic authorities introduced a separate toll system known as MYTO.

The country removed the toll stickers in 2021, and since that time, drivers can only use electronic vignettes. An electronic vignette has entirely eliminated the need to put a physical sticker on the vehicle’s windscreen. Instead, a vehicle’s owner can easily buy an e-vignette in just a few simple clicks.

Regarding the vignette prices, the fuel of the vehicle is one of the factors that determine the vignette fee. For vehicles powered by natural gas or biomethane, the eco price is applicable.

Vignette types for vehicles up to 3.5t

Drivers of vehicles up to 3.5t can choose between three available types of a digital vignette:

  • 10-day vignette
  • 30-day vignette
  • 1-year vignette

Note: The validity of all vignette types can start immediately or from the date indicated during the order process.

Exemption for eco-powered vehicles

Vehicles powered by electricity or hydrogen are exempt from toll payment and can drive through the Czech Republic without using any vignette. A CO2 emission limit of 50 g/km has been set for mixed-drive vehicles.

Vignette exemption also applies to vehicles transporting certain categories of citizens or special types of vehicles, including historical vehicles or those equipped with a special warning light.

Toll for vehicles over 3.5t

For vehicles whose GVW exceeds 3.5t, the Czech Republic introduced a separate toll system called MYTO.

Drivers of this category of vehicles must obtain a GPS-equipped device measuring the distance driven in the country. Based on it, they will be charged a special toll.

Vignette type depending on the vehicle type

  • Motorbikes: no requirement to buy a vignette;
  • Cars (up to 3.5t GVW): drivers can choose either a 10-day, 30-day, or annual vignette, depending on their travel needs;
  • Motorhomes (up to 3.5t GVW): drivers of motorhomes can obtain a digital vignette for 10 days, 30 days, or 1 year;
  • Trucks (up to 3.5t GVW): drivers of trucks not exceeding 3.5t can also get either a 10-day, 30-day, or annual vignette;
  • Vehicles over 3.5 GVW: MYTO.
