About Czech vignette for trailers
Although the Czech Republic introduced the vignette system in the country, there is no separate Czech vignette for trailers. Drivers of the vehicle combination consisting of a trailer aren’t required to obtain a separate vignette for a trailer.
If you drive a vehicle up to 3.5 tons, you will only need to obtain one vignette without needing to purchase an additional Czech vignette for a trailer. An official Czech vignette for vehicles up to 3.5t can be obtained entirely online using any electronic device with stable Internet access. All the vehicle details provided during the online purchase will be stored online. Therefore, there is no need to print it out or fix the physical sticker to the vehicle.
The Czech Republic uses the camera system to verify all the vehicles driving in the Czech Republic. Those who attempt driving without a previously purchased vignette are subject to fines up to CZK 20,000.
There are three types of Czech e-vignette available for drivers of the vehicle subject to toll. Drivers can obtain either a 10-day, 30-day, or annual vignette. When buying a Czech vignette online, a driver needs to select the date when they prefer their vignette to start. The vignette will be activated on the date selected by the buyer during the buying process.
For vehicles whose maximum weight is over 3.5t, the vignette requirement doesn’t apply. For their owners, the Czech Republic introduced a separate toll system measuring the toll based on the distance driven in the country as well as the vehicle category. For this purpose, drivers must install a GPS device.
